Technical Selection Considerations

  1. Alloy Temper: Insist on 6005-T5 for superior wind-bending strength. Standard 6063-T5 is softer and bends easier under heavy snow loads.

  2. Surface Finish: Anodized aluminum is mandatory to prevent galvanic corrosion. This is critical where steel hardware contact points or seaside salt air can degrade raw metal.

  3. Span Capacity: Verify the rail's maximum engineering span limit. This determines how far apart your roof attachment brackets can safely be spaced without risking structural sagging.
